Teaching factoring expressions early

I’m not crazy about this problem set (it’s wordy and doesn’t ask kids to do much thinking) but I’m posting it as reminder that I like the idea of teaching factoring by undistributing as part of an introductory unit to expressions. It hits the distributive property hard, and then when we get around to big-boy and girl factoring later in the year the class is really familiar with the meaning of factoring, and we can focus on the weirdo multiplication of binomials.
