Two good posts about fraction division algorithms

There’s a common numerator and a common denominator algorithm. I can see using these algorithms in two ways:

  1. ala CME, have students analyze these algorithms and come up with explanations for why they work (which will inevitably involve practicing some of these problems)
  2. with my remedial class, starting with problems that motivate the common denominator algorithm first, and then moving to the flip-and-multiply algorithm
